# Who needs CAD?
I’m using a template that didn’t have premade cavities (and if I had, I would probably need bigger cavities), so I need to make templates for the cavities. I would ordinarily do this in CAD, and 3d print templates (with PETG and probably solid infill), but no printer in this woodshop. So instead of CAD, I’m using baking paper to trace out the shape of the cavity, and transfer it to plywood that I can then shape on the bandsaw, belt sander, drill press, and oscillating spindle sander. I’m spoiled for tools!
